La Romana is located in the foothills of the Sierra del Redclot a few kms from Alguena, inland Alicante on Costa Blanca South. La Romana has been called the Village of Pine Trees marble and excellent wine.
The village is surrounded by lovely countryside where vineyards and almond orchards are grown. In September the Paella in the Park is held when a giant paella post is set up outside and the locals take part in a fiesta. A popular area with ex-pats looking for a quiet rural home.

The street market is on a Saturday morning. There is a community swimming pool that opens during the Summer months. The nearest golf course is Alenda (a 20 min drive away) and Alicante airport is about 40 kms away.
In town, or in the countryside, there is an abundance of properties in La Romana that range from the new and shiny to the reformed country house. Prices are cheaper inland Alicante. The mild climate has made living in the ‘campo’ the perfect location for many expats wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of their busy life. Public transport is not reliable and frequent. Furthermore the popular weekly market attracts traders (and goods of course) of all shapes and sizes.
